We had a bit of much needed rain last night. My Peonies popped open today and are just beautiful and wanted to share their beauty with you. They did not do as well as last year. Only a few bloomed this season. Last year they all bloomed and made quite a splendid show.

I have to save that blogging has brought me some wonderful friendships, which I consider blessings. I have "met" people I would otherwise never have known, our paths would never have crossed. You feel that you have much in common and enjoy visiting with them. One such friend is Diane at
http://sideroadstitcher.blogspot.com/ . It all started with a loaf of bread. Diane makes the most beautiful loaves of bread. She was not only kind enough to share her recipe, she also made a smaller portion and then TESTED it to be sure it was the correct proportions ! WHO would do that for a complete bread stalking stranger???? As we talked back and forth, we found we share some of the same food philosophies. She is fortunate. despite all the hard work, that she is able to grow most of her veggies. Mr. Quilttales and I have to rely on the local farmers market. Today, I made Diane's wonderful bread.......I wonder if she knew I was thinking of her as I made it, and that every time I make it, I will think of her generosity and kindness ????

I knew I could smell baking bread! Bless you, my friend.
